Teacher Bio's

Welcome! My name is Candius Harris and I was born and raised in southeast Georgia. I earned my bachelor's degree from Georgia Southern University, and then my master's from Mercer University. I'm excited about teaching Kindergarten again this year. I love helping students learn, grow and explore.  When I'm not teaching, I am reading, camping, traveling, or spending quality time with my family. I have an awesome and supportive husband and am the mother of a son named Bryce and a daughter named Camille.  Some of my favorite things are herbal teas, the color blue, anything chocolate, and performing random acts of kindness. Teaching Philosophy- I'm all about social-emotional and hands-on learning. I believe that each child has unique strength and that emotional engagement is the key to powerful learning and a positive attitude.

Welcome! I am Mrs. Desiree Augustine and I was born in the island of Dominica. This beautiful island is located between the two French countries of Guadeloupe and Martinique. I am married and have a daughter, son and two beautiful grandchildren. I am excited to be the paraprofessional for the kindergarten classroom. I worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over a decade. During my years working at the Hospital, I always enjoyed caring for the babies and school age children. In 2014, I studied Early Childhood Care and Education at Southern Crescent Technical College. In 2020 I joined the team of teachers at Dutchtown Middle School. The following school year I joined the Marvelous staff at Hampton Elementary School. This school always felt like home to me. My son went to this school and during these years I made it a duty to volunteer there regularly. I cannot wait for another exciting school year of Exploring, Discovering, and Learning.
