HENRY COUNTY, GA – The Henry County Board of Education approved Richard Flowers as the new principal of Stockbridge Middle School during its December board meeting.

“I am honored to serve as principal of Stockbridge Middle School,” Flowers said. “Middle school is a critical period of growth, and I am committed to fostering a safe and supportive learning environment, empowering educators, and partnering with families to ensure the academic, social, and emotional success of every student.”

Flowers brings 15 years of experience in education and most recently served as an assistant principal at Stockbridge Middle School. His proven commitment to instructional leadership, student achievement, and nurturing collaborative cultures has been instrumental in promoting high-performing school communities.

“I am pleased to welcome Mr. Flowers in his new role as principal of Stockbridge Middle School,” said Superintendent Dr. John Pace III. “He has demonstrated a clear passion for empowering young learners and a commitment to supporting Stockbridge Middle School’s mission and vision. I am confident he will continue to champion excellence and inclusivity in ensuring a high-quality learning experience for all students and staff.”

Flowers holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Fort Valley State University, a master’s degree in special education from Grand Canyon University, and an Education Specialist degree in educational leadership from the University of West Georgia.

He is dedicated to advancing student outcomes through high expectations, effective leadership, and meaningful partnerships. His desire to enrich the school experience and advance a sense of community and connection ensures all students receive the support they need to thrive academically and personally.

“We are excited to have Mr. Flowers as the new principal of Stockbridge Middle School,” said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Cemond Robinzine. “Mr. Flowers is an effective leader who possesses a strong instructional skill set that will allow him to increase learning opportunities for all students. We look forward to his positive contributions to the Stockbridge cluster and community.”

Flowers began his tenure as principal of Stockbridge Middle School on Jan. 5.
